Getting out on the water

Throughout the country there are rivers, lakes and ponds that can be accessed with a canoe or kayak. These can be terrific places to get in some time on the water before or after work and integrate the outdoors into your life without a huge budget or a lot of hassle. If you keep a sharp eye out you can pick this kind of thing up used , like this one that we paid $150 for at a garage sale in our neighborhood. The canoe came with two paddles and has nice seats with supportive backs. The great thing about a boat like this is that it is light weight, requires almost no maintenance and can be stored on the ground anywhere that it is out of the way.
